Wichenford

The Wichenford is built around the same principles as our heavy duty shed collection, with robust framing, generous proportions and market leading materials to ensure a premium grade product.

The horizontal Waney-edge cladding is created by overlapping rough sawn larch timber boards, so that the natural edge is left exposed and creates a stunning rustic style timber building. With a classic Apex roof, this secure storage solution complements traditional, listed and rural environments beautifully; ideal for country homes, hotels, farms, farm shops and an array of historical properties. Materials & Construction

Made to order in our Worcestershire based workshop, each shed produced by Worcester Timber Products is designed for living and crafted with care.

The heavy-duty construction creates a more rigid, more weatherproof and longer lifespan shed. Framework is robust, with 70 x 50mm (3 x 2) C16 timber, rounded and planed to provide a smooth professional finish to the interior of the shed. Stainless steel nails and high performance timber screws are used, and to continue with high-quality materials, our economical weatherproofing membrane is installed. 24kg Polyester charcoal shed felt is chosen for the roof as the polyester results in a stronger and more durable product compared with standard shed felt, and it also increases life expectancy. To further ensure longevity and a premium product that Worcester Timber Products are renowned for, pressure treated timber is used in the construction. This includes 22 x 125mm (Finished 19 x 120mm) tongue and groove matchboard for the floor, and 16 x 125mm (Finished 12 x 120mm) tongue and groove matchboard for the roof.

For a higher grade of security, the generously proportioned single door measuring 800mm wide is fully framed and fitted with concealed hinges. In addition, an award winning Euro profile lock with high security 6-pin barrel and stainless steel locking bolt with high corrosion resistance is provided, which sits discretely within the cladding. Five keys are provided. To further enhance security of this shed, windows are not incorporated, but can be included as a bespoke variation if required.

Dimensions, alternative sizes, bespoke variations & enhancements

Sizes are based on gable end width, followed by length/depth. Maximum and minimum heights can vary due to pitch, however as a guide the lowest point will be circa 2.1m and the maximum height at 2.4m . Please contact us to discuss bespoke options, variations and/or enhancements such as windows, internal lining, insulation, guttering, upgrading roof from polyester shed felt to EPDM or other materials.

Timber Treatment

Larch is untreated, and many customers opt to leave their larch timber to the natural process, which is a traditional silver-grey from the sun. With knowledge and expertise from the team at Worcester Timber Products, we would recommend protecting your investment by selecting a Natural oil wood stain by OSMO which highlights the grains of the wood and provides longevity. Two coats are recommended by the manufacturer. With a microporous and breathable silver metallic finish for exterior wood, it is water repellent, weather and UV resistant, and protects against mould, algae, and fungal attack. Other products to consider are OSMO Country Colour which is a Eco-friendly satin wood finish for exterior timber or a UV Protection Oil which is Clear satin protection against harmful UV rays.  Ask us about our Painting Service.

Delivery & Installation

After all your inspiration, research and investment, a professional installation of your timber building on a firm base is essential to ensure longevity. We recommend a concrete base that ensures flat and level surface, and at a minimum of the size of the floor of the building. Worcester Timber Products offer a complimentary installation service (weekdays only) to customers in B, DY, GL, HR, WR, WV, WS postcode areas. For all other postcodes, please contact us to discuss options and surcharges. All we need you to do is make sure that a firm and level base is ready for the building to be assembled, and advise of any known access issues or concerns at point of order. On the day, our professional team will erect your building, ensure all fixtures and fittings are in place and in full working order. Our installers will clear away any waste materials and ensure your shed is ready for immediate use. On rare occasions, delivery may be made separately.
