Double Door Garden Shed with Classic Apex Roof
The Bewdley is a heavy duty, handmade double door garden shed with a classic apex roof, designed for anyone who wants generous storage capacity and genuinely practical access in a single well-built building. The double doors open outwards to give a wide, unobstructed entry, making it easy to move lawnmowers, large power tools, garden furniture and other bulky items in and out without effort.
The Bewdley's size range is one of its key features, with widths from 7ft up to 10ft and depths up to 30ft, there's a configuration suited to everything from a standard family garden to a dedicated hobby workshop or trade storage building, capable of storing a lawnmower, a workbench and seasonal garden equipment comfortably. All sizes are measured as gable end width followed by depth.
Construction and materials
The framework uses 70 x 50mm rounded planed CLS timber for a smooth, professional interior finish. The floor is 22 x 125mm matchboard (finished 19 x 120mm), the roof and door use 16 x 125mm matchboard (finished 12 x 120mm), and the shiplap cladding is 16 x 125mm (finished 12 x 120mm), all double nailed with stainless steel nails.
Every Bewdley is fitted with 24kg polyester charcoal felt, which significantly outperforms standard shed felt and extends the building's overall life expectancy. The doors are fitted with traditional medium tee hinges, tamperproof screws, a brenton padbolt and tower bolts in a black finish. A 70mm long throw 6 pin barrel lock from the GATEMATE range can be added to your basket and fitted at no extra charge.
All timber is pressure treated and carries a 15 year guarantee against rot and decay. If you need the same layout with windows included, take a look at our Chaddesley. We stock a range of OSMO timber treatment products to help protect and extend the life of your building.
Complimentary installation is available to customers in B, CV, DY, GL, WR, WV and some HR postcodes. Priced from £1,136.40 to £7,878.00 depending on size, the Bewdley can be ordered online or by visiting our Worcestershire yard.
What is the difference between the Bewdley and the Chaddesley?
Both have double doors and an apex roof, but the Chaddesley includes two framed PERSPEX windows as standard. The Bewdley does not include windows, so it suits those who want a fully enclosed building or plan to add artificial lighting separately.
Are bespoke sizes or enhancements available?
Yes, bespoke sizes, variations and enhancements can be discussed. Please contact us before ordering to talk through your specific requirements.
How do the shed sizes work?
Sizes are listed as gable end width followed by depth, so a 10 x 20ft Bewdley is 10ft wide and 20ft deep. It's worth measuring your available space carefully before choosing and leaving a small clearance margin around the building for access and maintenance.
How should I maintain the Bewdley over time?
Check the roof felt annually and replace it if it shows signs of cracking or lifting. Reapply a quality exterior wood preservative or stain to the cladding periodically, and inspect the door ironmongery each season to ensure everything is still working correctly.
Warranty
All our timber is pressure treated and guaranteed against rot and decay (fungi) for 10 years. To extend the life of your shed further, we recommend treating it with an appropriate exterior preservative per manufacturer guidelines. As authorised OSMO stockists, we recommend their UV Protection Oil, Natural Oil wood stain or Country Colour satin finish range.
Important considerations
Your base must be firm, level and at least the size of the shed floor. We always recommend concrete or slabs. Our installation teams use vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes and will need direct vehicle access to your property for several hours. If you're in a controlled parking zone, please arrange a permit in advance. There must be no overhead obstructions such as branches, cables or arches. Please advise us of any issues before production so changes can be made in time.
If the assembly team considers the site unsuitable on the day and you choose to proceed, you accept responsibility for the structural integrity of the building and indemnify Worcester Timber Products against any future issues. If the team must leave before completion for reasons beyond their control, no refunds are applicable and additional charges may be levied.
