DuraPost Commercial Post for Heavy Duty Fencing
The DuraPost Commercial Post is a patented, cold rolled galvanised steel fence post system manufactured to EN 10346. It is lighter than concrete yet built for strength, making it a popular choice where a standard timber or concrete post simply isn't tough enough for the job.
Made with 2.5mm steel, compared to the 1.5mm thickness of the classic DuraPost, the commercial version offers extra strength for taller fencing applications up to 4m above ground. This DuraPost Commercial Post is designed for both residential work and civil projects, including sound proofing fences around supermarkets, petrol stations, takeaways, drive throughs, and roadside fencing. It has been tested to BS EN 1794-1:2018, with the manufacturer's specification confirming wind resistance up to 90mph and static load testing on 3.0m posts.
Sizing and specification
Each DuraPost Commercial Post is available in 3m, 3.4m or 4m lengths, all finished in galvanised steel for a maintenance free solution that will not rot, warp or need repainting. A common question is how deep a commercial fence post needs to go into the ground. As a guide, a minimum of 800mm below ground is recommended, though this should be increased on taller installations, since reducing post centres helps maintain the same load rating as height increases.
Installation and use
Beyond fencing, the DuraPost Commercial Post can also be used for heavy retaining applications or as hoarding on construction sites, thanks to its strength and lightweight handling compared with concrete alternatives. Pair your posts with DuraPost capping rail and DuraPost screws for a complete fixing.
Priced from £86.04 to £106.84 depending on length, the DuraPost Commercial Post is in stock now. Order online or visit our Worcestershire yard, and trade customers can ask about discounts on larger orders.
What is the DuraPost Commercial Post used for?

How deep should a DuraPost Commercial Post be set in the ground?
A minimum of 800mm below ground is recommended, with deeper or closer post centres needed as fence height increases to maintain the same load rating.
What lengths does the DuraPost Commercial Post come in?
It's available in 3m, 3.4m and 4m lengths, all in a galvanised steel finish.
Is the DuraPost Commercial Post stronger than the standard DuraPost?
