Secure Pent Shed with Double Doors and Small Windows

The Broadheath is a heavy duty, handmade secure pent shed that balances natural light with privacy, using two small framed PERSPEX windows positioned to let daylight into the interior without giving a clear view of what's stored inside. It's built for anyone who wants a large, accessible shed with double doors but doesn't want to compromise the security of their stored tools, equipment or valuables through large glazed panels.

The logic behind small windows on a secure pent shed is straightforward: standard size windows advertise the contents of a shed to anyone passing, while the Broadheath's small framed panes let in useful working light while keeping the interior private. The PERSPEX clear cast acrylic glazing has outstanding clarity, is harder wearing than glass and carries virtually no colour bias, so the light quality inside is good despite the smaller aperture.

Construction and materials

The framework uses 70 x 50mm rounded planed CLS timber for a smooth, professional interior finish. The floor is 22 x 125mm matchboard (finished 19 x 120mm), the roof and door use 16 x 125mm matchboard (finished 12 x 120mm), and the shiplap cladding is 16 x 125mm (finished 12 x 120mm), all double nailed with stainless steel nails. All sheds are fitted with 24kg polyester charcoal felt. The double door opens outwards and is fitted with traditional medium tee hinges, tamperproof screws, a brenton padbolt and tower bolts in a black finish. A 70mm long throw 6 pin barrel lock from the GATEMATE range can be added to your basket and fitted at no extra charge.

Sizing and installation

This secure pent shed is available in 44 sizes from 8 x 4ft up to 20 x 10ft, with sizes measured as gable end width followed by depth. What is the difference between the Broadheath and the Shipston?
Both have double doors and two framed PERSPEX windows, but the Shipston uses standard size 600 x 600mm windows while the Broadheath uses smaller panes, prioritising security over maximum light.

How do the size measurements work?
Sizes are listed as gable end width followed by depth. A 14 x 10ft Broadheath is 14ft wide and 10ft deep. Allow a small clearance margin around the building for access and ongoing maintenance.

Warranty

All our timber is pressure treated and guaranteed against rot and decay (fungi) for 10 years. To extend the life of your shed further, we recommend treating it with an appropriate exterior preservative per manufacturer guidelines. As authorised OSMO stockists, we recommend their UV Protection Oil, Natural Oil wood stain or Country Colour satin finish range.

Important considerations

Your base must be firm, level and at least the size of the shed floor. We always recommend concrete or slabs. Our installation teams use vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes and will need direct vehicle access to your property for several hours. If you're in a controlled parking zone, please arrange a permit in advance. There must be no overhead obstructions such as branches, cables or arches. Please advise us of any issues before production so changes can be made in time.

If the assembly team considers the site unsuitable on the day and you choose to proceed, you accept responsibility for the structural integrity of the building and indemnify Worcester Timber Products against any future issues. If the team must leave before completion for reasons beyond their control, no refunds are applicable and additional charges may be levied.
