Dog Kennel with Run for a Safe, Secure Outdoor Space

The Shrawley is a handmade dog kennel with run that gives your dog an enclosed, weatherproof sleeping area alongside a spacious galvanised bar run, all within one well-built outdoor building. It's a better alternative to a kennel and run bought as separate pieces: everything is purpose-built together with the same materials and construction quality used across our heavy duty shed range.

The run section measures 1500mm x 1840mm with galvanised bars spaced 50mm apart, and has a single door that opens inwards, fitted with a handle that can be padlocked (padlock not included). The run length is always 6ft as standard; the remaining length of whichever size you choose forms the enclosed bedding area. So on a 10 x 4ft Shrawley, the bedding area is 4ft, and on a 12 x 4ft it's 6ft, giving you a clear way to calculate the sleeping space your dog will have.

The enclosed bedding area is clad in 16 x 125mm shiplap with a 22 x 125mm matchboard floor, a single door opening outwards fitted with tee hinges and a brenton padbolt, and a 600 x 600mm PERSPEX clear cast acrylic window available as either non-opening or opening for ventilation. For added security, a GATEMATE 70mm long throw 6-pin barrel lock can be added to your basket and fitted at no extra charge.

Construction, sizing and installation

The framework uses 70 x 50mm rounded planed CLS timber throughout, with 24kg polyester charcoal felt on the pent roof. Height ranges from 2.1m at the lowest point to 2.4m at the highest. Six sizes are available from 9 x 4ft to 14 x 4ft. Enhancements including overhang, insulation, guttering and an EPDM roof upgrade are all available.

When treating this dog kennel with run, always check the manufacturer's guidance to ensure any timber treatment product used is safe for animals before applying it. We stock a range of OSMO exterior treatment products that can help protect and extend the life of the timber.

All timber is pressure treated and carries a 15 year guarantee against rot and decay. Complimentary installation is available to customers in B, CV, DY, GL, HR, WR, WS and WV postcodes. Priced from £1,110.00 to £1,680.00 depending on size, the Shrawley can be ordered online or by visiting our Worcestershire yard.

Could a small dog get through the 50mm bar spacing?
The bars are spaced 50mm apart. If you have a small breed or puppy, please consider whether this gap is appropriate for your dog before ordering.

Does the dog kennel with run come with a padlock?
No, the run door handle is padlock-ready but a padlock is not included. You'll need to provide your own padlock to secure the run door.

Is there a floor in the run area, or just in the kennel?
The matchboard floor is only in the enclosed bedding area. The run section sits on whatever base you've prepared, which is why a firm, level concrete base is recommended for the full footprint.

Warranty

All our timber is pressure treated and guaranteed against rot and decay (fungi) for 10 years. To extend the life of your shed further, we recommend treating it with an appropriate exterior preservative per manufacturer guidelines. As authorised OSMO stockists, we recommend their UV Protection Oil, Natural Oil wood stain or Country Colour satin finish range.

Important considerations

Your base must be firm, level and at least the size of the shed floor. We always recommend concrete or slabs. Our installation teams use vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes and will need direct vehicle access to your property for several hours. If you're in a controlled parking zone, please arrange a permit in advance. There must be no overhead obstructions such as branches, cables or arches. Please advise us of any issues before production so changes can be made in time.

If the assembly team considers the site unsuitable on the day and you choose to proceed, you accept responsibility for the structural integrity of the building and indemnify Worcester Timber Products against any future issues. If the team must leave before completion for reasons beyond their control, no refunds are applicable and additional charges may be levied.
