Pent Roof Shed with Double Doors for Practical Garden Storage

The Hartlebury is a heavy duty, handmade pent roof shed with double doors, built for anyone who needs substantial garden storage or a practical outdoor workspace. A pent roof slopes from a higher point on one side to a lower point on the other, and this clean, contemporary profile makes it particularly well suited to positions close to a house wall, fence or boundary, where the central ridge of an apex roof might create clearance or neighbour issues.

One of this shed's defining features is the double doors: the Hartlebury's wide opening gives a clear, unobstructed entry that makes moving large items in and out much more straightforward than a single door allows. The doors open outwards and are fitted with traditional medium tee hinges, a brenton padbolt and tower bolts, all in a black finish, along with tamperproof screws for added security. For even greater security, a 70mm long throw 6 pin barrel lock from the GATEMATE range can be added to your basket and will be fitted at no extra charge.

Construction and materials

The framework uses 70 x 50mm rounded planed CLS timber for a smooth interior finish. The floor is 22 x 125mm matchboard (finished 19 x 120mm), the roof and door use 16 x 125mm matchboard (finished 12 x 120mm), and the shiplap cladding is 16 x 125mm (finished 12 x 120mm), all double nailed with stainless steel nails. Every shed is fitted with 24kg polyester charcoal felt as standard, which significantly outlasts conventional shed felt and increases the overall life expectancy of the building. All timber is pressure treated and carries a 15 year guarantee against rot and decay.

Sizing and installation

This pent roof shed is available in a wide range of sizes from 7 x 5ft up to 30 x 10ft, with sizes measured as gable end width followed by length. Can I add windows to the Hartlebury?
This model does not include windows. If you want a pent roof shed with windows, the Bredon has the same pent roof and double door construction with windows included.

Is a pent roof shed better near a boundary than an apex roof?
In many cases yes. Because the pent roof has a single slope rather than a central ridge, the overall height profile is lower on one side, which can be helpful where there are boundary restrictions or planning height limits on one side of the site.

How should I maintain the shed year to year?
Inspect the roof felt annually and replace it if it shows signs of deterioration. Treat the cladding periodically with a quality exterior preservative or stain, and check ironmongery and door hardware are all in good working order each season.

Warranty

All our timber is pressure treated and guaranteed against rot and decay (fungi) for 10 years. To extend the life of your shed further, we recommend treating it with an appropriate exterior preservative per manufacturer guidelines. As authorised OSMO stockists, we recommend their UV Protection Oil, Natural Oil wood stain or Country Colour satin finish range.

Important considerations

Your base must be firm, level and at least the size of the shed floor. We always recommend concrete or slabs. Our installation teams use vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes and will need direct vehicle access to your property for several hours. If you're in a controlled parking zone, please arrange a permit in advance. There must be no overhead obstructions such as branches, cables or arches. Please advise us of any issues before production so changes can be made in time.

If the assembly team considers the site unsuitable on the day and you choose to proceed, you accept responsibility for the structural integrity of the building and indemnify Worcester Timber Products against any future issues. If the team must leave before completion for reasons beyond their control, no refunds are applicable and additional charges may be levied.
