Dual Access Shed with Front and Rear Entry

The Hawford is a premium handmade dual access shed designed to turn the side of a house into a fully connected, weatherproof thoroughfare. Rather than just providing storage, it gives you a single door at the front of the building and double doors at the rear, so you can walk through from the front of the property to the back without going around the outside of the house. This makes it one of the most functional buildings in our range, particularly suited to properties where the side passage is the main route between garden and street.

A dual access shed is ideal for storing motorbikes, bicycles and heavy equipment that needs to be wheeled through rather than lifted, as well as for properties where blocking that side passage with a single door shed would create a dead end.

Construction and materials

The framework uses 70 x 50mm rounded planed CLS timber for a smooth, professional interior. The floor is 22 x 125mm matchboard (finished 19 x 120mm), the roof and door use 16 x 125mm matchboard (finished 12 x 120mm), and the shiplap cladding is 16 x 125mm (finished 12 x 120mm), all double nailed with stainless steel nails. All sheds are fitted with 24kg polyester charcoal felt.

Both the front single door and rear double doors open outwards and are fitted with traditional medium tee hinges, tamperproof screws, a brenton padbolt, tower bolts and turn buttons in a black finish. A 70mm long throw 6 pin barrel lock from the GATEMATE range can be added to your basket and fitted at no extra charge.

Roof slope, sizing and installation

The pent roof slopes from left to right (highest point left) when viewed from the outside facing the rear double doors, with a right-to-left reverse option available if your site requires it. This dual access shed is available in 30 sizes from 6 x 6ft up to 10 x 20ft, with sizes measured as gable end width followed by depth. A display model is available to view at our yard before ordering. We stock a range of OSMO exterior timber treatment products to help protect and extend the life of your building.

All timber is pressure treated and carries a 15 year guarantee against rot and decay. Complimentary installation is available to customers in B, CV, DY, GL, WR, WV and some HR postcodes. Priced from £1,027.20 to £5,184.00 depending on size, the Hawford can be ordered online or by visiting our Worcestershire yard.

How is the Hawford different from the Astley or Netherton?
The Astley and Netherton are single-door side sheds designed purely for storage in a side passage. The Hawford adds double doors at the rear so the building becomes a through route, which is useful when you need to move bikes, motorbikes or equipment from front to rear, or when the passage needs to remain accessible.

Can I see a model of the Hawford before ordering?
Yes, a display model is available to view at our Worcestershire yard, which is worth a visit before ordering given the size and investment involved.

Are bespoke sizes or enhancements available?
Yes, bespoke sizes and variations can be discussed. Please contact us before ordering if you have a specific requirement that isn't covered by the standard size range.

Which way does the pent roof slope and can it be reversed?
When looking from outside toward the rear double doors, the roof slopes from left (highest) to right (lowest) as standard. A reverse option sloping right to left is available if your site requires it.

Warranty

All our timber is pressure treated and guaranteed against rot and decay (fungi) for 10 years. To extend the life of your shed further, we recommend treating it with an appropriate exterior preservative per manufacturer guidelines. As authorised OSMO stockists, we recommend their UV Protection Oil, Natural Oil wood stain or Country Colour satin finish range.

Important considerations

Your base must be firm, level and at least the size of the shed floor. We always recommend concrete or slabs. Our installation teams use vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes and will need direct vehicle access to your property for several hours. If you're in a controlled parking zone, please arrange a permit in advance. There must be no overhead obstructions such as branches, cables or arches. Please advise us of any issues before production so changes can be made in time.

If the assembly team considers the site unsuitable on the day and you choose to proceed, you accept responsibility for the structural integrity of the building and indemnify Worcester Timber Products against any future issues. If the team must leave before completion for reasons beyond their control, no refunds are applicable and additional charges may be levied.
