Modern Potting Shed with Double Doors and Opening Windows

The Pershore is a modern potting shed built for the contemporary gardener, combining the function of a traditional potting shed with the practicality of a well-designed work shed in a single heavy duty building. Known as the GroShed, it sits in a distinct category from WTP's traditional Holberrow potting shed: the Pershore has double doors for full-width access, two opening framed PERSPEX windows for active ventilation, and optional benches that let you configure the interior for propagation, growing or general garden work.

If you're deciding between a traditional and a modern potting shed, the key practical difference is access and airflow: the Pershore's double doors give a wide, unobstructed opening that the traditional stable door approach can't match, and the two opening windows give genuine cross-ventilation rather than passive light control alone. The windows use PERSPEX clear cast acrylic, which has outstanding clarity, a high gloss surface and is harder wearing than glass with virtually no colour bias.

Door position and configuration

The Pershore's door position can be specified as either the left or right side of the building, with a further choice of left or right hanging on whichever side you choose. This gives four configurations in total, allowing you to set the workspace and growing areas to one side and the door access to the other, depending on your garden layout and how you want to move around inside.

Construction, sizing and installation

The framework uses 70 x 50mm rounded planed CLS timber for a smooth interior finish. The floor is 22 x 125mm matchboard (finished 19 x 120mm), the roof and door use 16 x 125mm matchboard (finished 12 x 120mm), and the shiplap cladding is 16 x 125mm (finished 12 x 120mm), all double nailed with stainless steel nails. All sheds are fitted with 24kg polyester charcoal felt. The double door is fitted with tee hinges, tamperproof screws, a brenton padbolt and tower bolts. A GATEMATE 70mm long throw 6-pin barrel lock can be added to your basket and fitted at no extra charge.

This modern potting shed is available in 5 sizes, all 10ft wide, with depths from 6ft to 10ft. All timber is pressure treated and carries a 15 year guarantee against rot and decay. We stock a range of OSMO timber treatment products to help protect and extend the life of the building.

Complimentary installation is available to customers in B, CV, DY, GL, WR, WV and some HR postcodes. Priced from £2,802.00 to £4,002.00 depending on size, the Pershore can be ordered online or by visiting our Worcestershire yard.

How does the Pershore modern potting shed differ from the Holberrow?
The Holberrow is a traditional potting shed with a stable door, fixed-position workbench and opening side windows. The Pershore is a modern take with double doors for wider access, two opening front windows and configurable bench options, giving a more flexible interior layout.

Why have opening windows in a potting shed rather than fixed ones?
Opening windows allow proper cross-ventilation, which is important for managing temperature and humidity around seedlings and young plants. The two opening PERSPEX panes on the Pershore work alongside the double doors to create a genuinely ventilated space rather than just a lit one.

Are benches included as standard or do they cost extra?
Benches are optional on the Pershore. Please contact us when ordering to discuss bench configuration, placement and any additional cost.

Warranty

All our timber is pressure treated and guaranteed against rot and decay (fungi) for 10 years. To extend the life of your shed further, we recommend treating it with an appropriate exterior preservative per manufacturer guidelines. As authorised OSMO stockists, we recommend their UV Protection Oil, Natural Oil wood stain or Country Colour satin finish range.

Important considerations

Your base must be firm, level and at least the size of the shed floor. We always recommend concrete or slabs. Our installation teams use vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes and will need direct vehicle access to your property for several hours. If you're in a controlled parking zone, please arrange a permit in advance. There must be no overhead obstructions such as branches, cables or arches. Please advise us of any issues before production so changes can be made in time.

If the assembly team considers the site unsuitable on the day and you choose to proceed, you accept responsibility for the structural integrity of the building and indemnify Worcester Timber Products against any future issues. If the team must leave before completion for reasons beyond their control, no refunds are applicable and additional charges may be levied.
