Fully framed feather edge fence panels
Our fully framed feather edge fence panels use high-quality pressure treated timber and a robust full frame to deliver maximum strength and long-term performance. As a result, each panel stays straight, stable, and strong for many years, making it an excellent choice for secure rear and side garden boundaries.
Unlike standard feather edge panels, the fully framed construction increases rigidity and improves structural stability. Consequently, the fence holds its shape better over time and performs reliably in exposed or windy conditions. At the same time, the overlapping boards provide excellent privacy, while the traditional close board fencing panels design suits a wide range of UK properties.
Designed for versatility, you can install these panels with timber posts, concrete posts, or the innovative DuraPost fencing system. This flexibility makes them suitable for both DIY projects and professional installations. In addition, an integral capping strip comes fitted as standard to protect the feather edge boards from moisture ingress. This feature helps extend the life of the panel and improves long-term durability.
To achieve a clean, premium finish, we assemble each panel using stainless steel fixings. These fixings help prevent rust staining, streaking, and discolouration, ensuring the fence maintains a smart appearance over time.
Colours
Our fully framed feather edge fence panels are available in two colour options:
Tanalised (green) – ideal if you prefer a lighter finish or plan to paint your panels
Tanatone (brown) – suited to a darker, more traditional appearance

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need planning permission for a fence?
In most cases, planning permission is not required for garden fencing. However, height limits and local restrictions may apply. You can check the official Planning Portal guidance for fences, gates and garden walls for full details.
What is a fully framed feather edge fence panel?
A fully framed feather edge fence panel uses a complete timber frame around the edges. This construction provides greater strength and stability than standard feather edge panels.
Are fully framed feather edge panels stronger than standard panels?
Yes. The full frame increases rigidity, which helps the panel stay straight and perform better over time, particularly in exposed locations.
Are fully framed panels suitable for windy gardens?
Yes. The additional framing reduces movement and improves durability, making these panels a strong choice for open or windy gardens.
Do fully framed feather edge panels still provide good privacy?
Yes. They offer the same high level of privacy as standard feather edge panels, while also delivering improved structural strength.
Can fully framed panels be used with concrete posts and gravel boards?
Yes. Fully framed feather edge panels are compatible with concrete posts, timber posts, and gravel boards.
