Can you support our campaign to fill one of our sheds with a load of vital essentials for those in need within Worcestershire?
Throughout the month of January 2022, we’ll be calling on all staff, customers, suppliers, businesses and communities to support our New Year campaign to fill one of our Garden Sheds full of key store cupboard essentials which can be donated to food banks and local charities.
How can you help?
We will positioning one of our Garden Sheds at our premises throughout January. You can drop off items direct to the shed located in our car park at Worcester Timber Products, Unit 6, Beech Drive, Hartlebury Trading Estate, Hartlebury, Worcestershire, DY10 4JB. If you are unable to visit us but would still like to donate, please contact us and we may be able to collect during our customer delivery runs.
When is the shed open?
The shed will be available for you to donate items during our current opening hours (08:00-17:00), Monday to Friday. We’ll be closing the shed door at the end of Friday 28th January 2022.
What items will be accepted?
We are very grateful for donations, but food banks and charities are only able to accept donations of unopened and undamaged goods, which are still within their ‘USE BY’ date. Key products currently needed are:
- Cooking & Store cupboard: i.e UHT Milk, Peanut Butter, Sponge Puddings, Hot Chocolate, Tinned Potatoes, Tinned Fruit, Tinned Rice Pudding, Tinned Custard, Noodle Pots, Cup-a-soups, Jelly, Rice, Pasta, Crackers, Treats, Apple Juice, Orange Juice, Squash. Dried Herbs, Salt, Pepper, Gravy Granules, Instant Coffee, Tea, Sugar, Oil, Tomato Sauce, Packet Seasoning
Other items accepted include:
- For Pets: Wet & Dry Dog Food, Wet & Dry Cat Food
- Health & Hygiene: Disposable razors, Nappies (Size 5,6,7), Family Size shower gel, Men’s & Women’s Deodorant, Single Adult Toothbrushes, Family Pack of Toothbrushes, Shaving Foam, Family Size Shampoo, Hair Conditioner
- Cleaning Materials: Small washing up liquid, washing tablets, Anti Bacterial Spray, Anti Bacterial Wipes, Kitchen Roll
- Bedding & Blankets: New with tags – Sleeping Bags, Blankets, Backpacks
- Supermarket Gift Cards: Accepted by food banks to enable them to buy what they need, when they need it.
What items are not accepted?
Please note, we are unable to accept fresh or frozen food or any perishable items. It is recommended that glass jars are avoided to reduce damage during storage and transit.
When and where will Worcester Timber Products distribute the donations?
When the donation window closes, dependent on the volume of items received, we’ll be distributing directly using our vehicles to established food banks and charities in and around Kidderminster, Worcester, Evesham, Droitwich Spa, Bromsgrove and Redditch.
